About Us

Matt fell in love with the PSJ area decades ago as a boy from Florence, Alabama and has been playing on CSB ever since. He’s been dreaming of a brewery in PSJ since graduating from West Point (well, at least about tasting his next great local Craft brew!) but got busy raising a family as a new Chemical Engineer and the years flew by. He’s been on a coast to coast US tour of Paper Mill plants ever since…. but his interest in and passion for good Craft beer…. remained steady and strong. Last stop- Massillon, Ohio- where Matt led the plant thru considerable growth and expansion. All that experience being the GM of several Paper Mill Plants was great practice for running the steam, pressure, chemicals, and temps efficiently and productively in a Craft Brewery. Isn’t it ironic Port St Joe has a local Paper Mill history, too!

Darlyn fell in love with the Forgotten Coast as soon as the plane landed in ECP airport.

Living all over the US in Corporate relocations, Darlyn is a born and bred Buckeye from Canton, Ohio. She has spent the last 25 years in the Corporate world as a successful Insurance and Risk Management professional. But, no stranger to entrepreneurial startups, it’s in her blood. She has launched two successful companies and is passionate about building business, building communities, growing people, and growing profits. Darlyn currently works as a VP for the second-largest Global Reinsurer in the world while continuing to also assist the MEP system with Manufacturing expansion projects. Darlyn has underwritten numerous breweries and wineries of all shapes and sizes and has always wanted to partner in a brewery of her own for her next venture. Her MBA thesis on building successful retail businesses is going to come in handy for launching this Brewery!
